2026 Philanthropy Day Award Descriptions
For Philanthropy Day 2026, the AFP Greater Austin Chapter accepted nominations from the public for the following categories:

Outstanding Philanthropist of the Year Presented to an individual or family with a demonstrated record of exceptional generosity. This award honors those who exemplify outstanding civic and charitable responsibility and whose philanthropic leadership inspires others to give and serve at the community, national, and/or international level.
This award is intended to recognize individuals of any age or families; it does not honor the philanthropic activities of a corporation or foundation.
- Outstanding Philanthropic Medium or Large Corporation of the Year (101+ Employees)
Presented to a corporation with 101 or more employees, or its corporate foundation, that has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to philanthropy. This award recognizes organizations that provide meaningful financial, in-kind, and volunteer support and actively encourage and inspire others to take leadership roles in charitable giving and community involvement.
- Outstanding Philanthropic Small Corporation of the Year (100 or Fewer Employees)
Presented to a corporation with 100 or fewer employees, or its corporate foundation, that has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to philanthropy. This award recognizes organizations that provide meaningful financial, in-kind, and volunteer support and actively encourage and inspire others to take leadership roles in charitable giving and community involvement.
- Outstanding Fundraising Professional of the Year
Presented to an individual fundraising professional who demonstrates exemplary practice in their field. This award recognizes a professional with a minimum of five years of experience who is a current AFP member and whose dedication and leadership set a standard of excellence in fundraising.
- Communitarian Individual or Organization of the Year
Presented to an individual or organization that has strengthened community, promoted philanthropy and fundraising, and inspired others to take action or raise awareness. This award recognizes meaningful contributions toward advancing inclusion, diversity, equity, and access through the giving of time, talent, and resources.
