One Day Conference

September 26, 2024

Huston-Tillotson University, 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

AFP Austin's annual One Day Conference will equip fundraisers of all levels of experience and from all types of organizations with the knowledge and connections needed to create change in their work, lives, and community. The conference offers robust CFRE crediting, and attendees able to choose from sessions with subject matter experts who will offer guidance and advice specifically relevant to them based on organization size, development team size, and years of experience.
This year's event, titled Elevate Together: The Power of Fundraising, is intended to empower fundraisers and nonprofit professionals with the tactile, timely, and relevant education they need to create a big impact in their community.

Education sessions offered during the event will fall within one of the following areas:

Integrating IDEA (inclusion, diversity, equity, and access) and belonging into fundraising systems and teams: Creating a culture of belonging and implementing IDEA (inclusion, diversity, equity, and access) principles into teams and systems is imperative to the future of fundraising. AFP-GAC is looking for sessions that highlight opportunities for Austin-area fundraisers to explore and learn “better practices” to operationalize IDEA and belonging work into their teams.

Old Meets the New: How to succeed in fundraising with traditional and new strategies: An evolving philanthropic landscape requires innovation and traditional relationships building skills.  AFP-GAC is looking for sessions that highlight traditional techniques and modern methods that can be implemented into new and innovative fundraising strategies that meet the needs of our local community. Prospective speakers should consider the questions, what is something tried and true that should always stay the same, what are some new ways that fundraisers should embrace, and how should technology be used to enhance foundational fundraising skills.

Creating Impact: Collaborative Efforts of Fundraisers, Nonprofits, Funders, and Community Leaders: Creating a culture of philanthropy in Austin and the greater Austin area takes EACH and EVERYONE. AFP-GAC is looking for sessions that offer insight and instruction into how nonprofits can work together internally across departments and externally across the community to create long lasting impact.
Stay tuned for exciting updates and registration information for this event.
