Emily is a Development Director at the American Heart Association where she oversees all fundraising strategies within the Go Red for Women campaign. She also leads the organization’s effort in Austin to increase women’s heart health awareness and serve as a catalyst to improve the lives of women globally. A graduate of the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University, Emily holds a Masters of Public Service and Administration, with concentrations in nonprofit management and tax and accounting for nonprofits. Emily also holds a B.S. in Accounting from The University of Kansas.
Prior to joining the American Heart Association, Emily was the Development Manager for Special Events at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas where she oversaw the fundraising and execution of the organization’s five major events. Having worked in a variety of nonprofit development positions, Emily has gained knowledge and skills in grant writing and management, annual campaigns, special events, and donor solicitation.
In addition to serving on the board of AFP, Emily is an active member of the Junior League of Austin and sits on the Leadership Council for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas’ young professional group, Friends of the House. A native Austinite, Emily is excited to be in her hometown working in nonprofit development.
