AFP Educational Virtual Meeting  - July 2020

AFP Virtual Education Session  - Profit + Purpose: A Fundraiser's Guide to Corporate Social Responsibility

When it comes to corporate philanthropy, there is no more “business as usual.” Employees, consumers, and investors increasingly demand businesses take the lead in creating solutions to address the world’s pressing problems.

This focus on corporate social responsibility means companies are increasingly making investments of time, talent, and treasure as more than just an altruistic pursuit—it is also becoming a business imperative and growth driver.

But effective corporate social responsibility requires partnership with nonprofit organizations with the expertise to activate the strategy for social change. And nonprofits are often challenged with engaging corporate partners, as there is increasing competition for companies’ attention and CSR priorities seem to be ever-shifting.

In this session you will learn about the latest trends in CSR, including the factors many companies use to make their investment decisions. You will also learn tips on how to find the right decision-maker within the company and how to create the most compelling value proposition to engage companies as long-term partners. As a bonus, you’ll hear the “top 5 ways you may be turning off your corporate donor.
