AFP Educational Luncheon - January 2020Thank Yous (How Creative Thank Yous and Cultivating an Attitude of Gratitude Can Boost Fundraising) presented by Lynne Wester with The Donor Relations Guru Join us for our first general meeting of the year on Thursday, January 9, 2020 from 11:30am to 1pm at Temple Beth Shalom. Lynne Wester with The Donor Relations Guru will talk about how innovative and meaningful thank yous can help increase your organization’s fundraising. Most nonprofits are leaking donors like crazy. They acquire; they don’t retain. On average folks lose 8 out of 10 donors after the first gift. While donors want to change the world with their gifts, most want something else too. It’s intangible, but it’s important. And if you won’t give it to them, someone else will. The important social acknowledgement and identity reinforcement that comes from a heartfelt, thoughtful thank you cannot be underestimated. Truly, how and when you thank your donors can make or break your entire fundraising program. *Registration closes the Monday before the luncheon. Walk-ins are always welcome, however we strongly encourage reservations. Limited first come, first served seating is available. Lynne Wester strongly believes that donor relations is the key to unlocking fundraising success and that organizations must be as dedicated to the donor experience, or DX, as they are to the ask itself. Sometimes referred to as the Olivia Pope of fundraising, Lynne helps organizations when they need it the most – when crisis or opportunity arrives. Her guidance has led her clients to be recognized on the national stage for fundraising innovation, creative communication, and groundbreaking donor relations work. Lynne received her B.A. from the University of South Carolina, holds a Masters in Strategic Fundraising and Philanthropy from BayPath University, and proudly sports a DUCKtorate from the Disney Institute.
